Lakeshore Community Health Care

Mission: To provide access to comprehensive, integrated health care, regardless of ability to pay, eliminating health disparities among the underserved.

Lakeshore Community Health Care (LCHC) strives to create communities where all people live healthy, active and prosperous lives.

In September 2022, the Albrecht Free Clinic (AFC) transitioned its dental program to LCHC. For more than a year, the two organizations worked side by side at 908 Washington St. in West Bend. In January 2024, the AFC transitioned all patient care and operations to LCHC. This change provides more consistent, streamlined care to patients in a familiar location.

LCHC provides medical, dental, and mental health care, as well as pharmacy services, to the Washington County community. Those with or without insurance, at any income level, and all ages are welcome to become patients.

As a community health center services are not free, however, discounted care is offered based on household income. There are over 1,400 health centers across the country in all 50 states. They are an important part of the healthcare safety net and offer low-cost dental, medical, mental health care, and discounted prescription medications.

For more than a decade, LCHC has operated two non-profit health centers in Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties. The organization looks forward to helping increase access to care in Washington County.
