Chix 4 a Cause has a mission of helping to ease the burden of cancer... one Gift of Love at a time. As a volunteer-led organization, we are looking for a special person or persons to help with our Gift of Love program (GOL).

We need an empathetic person to help interview GOL nominees (cancer patients). Ideal volunteers would also help put together Gifts of Love using our supply at the office and complete other tasks for our unique Gifts of Love. Our volunteer would also go along on some of the presentations of the Gifts of Love to the recipients.

Best candidates for this position would be those in current or prior medical professions, cancer survivors or family/friends of cancer survivors/patients, or just those who truly understand the hardships, burdens, and roller-coaster that is a cancer diagnosis.

While the time spent will vary for this position, Chix 4 a Cause typically does between 5 and 9 Gifts of Love per month. This position will have support, training, and appreciation from Chix 4 a Cause staff. Our volunteer would not have to "do it all" for each gift. Presentation of a Gift of Love is usually about one hour. Interviews can vary between 20 minutes and an hour if the cancer fighter would like an understanding ear.

Chix 4 a Cause is looking for an organized individual who can help manage volunteers for our events and office. We would love to have someone join us who can help determine needed tasks, assign tasks to volunteers, track volunteer hours in our online software, communicate with volunteers (via email or phone) and attend our events. Our busiest event, Kickin' & Sippin' is in fall, late September to early October. Kickin' & Sippin' this year is September 30th. The volunteer coordinator would put in about 5 hours per month, more during preparation for our fall event.
