When an individual has been sexually assaulted, they are encouraged to go to their local emergency room to have a Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) completed. This volunteer opportunity offers support to victims of sexual assault at the time of their medical exam (SANE exam). The On-Call SANE Advocate is responsible for providing emotional support as needed and information about FRIENDS services and other community resources for victims and their families. As an On-Call SANE Advocate you are required to sign up to cover 2+ weekdays a month on whatever days work for you assuming they are not taken. On-call schedules start at 4:30pm and end the same day at 9:00pm, on call response time: 45 min. Note: Advocate is responsible for being available during the slots they singed up to cover, between the times stated above.
