Volunteer: Looking for Childcare Volunteers!

FRIENDS, Inc. is a local shelter that houses individuals and families who are fleeing from violence and abuse. We provide housing and support services to those who need it the most. 

We are looking for someone like you to help with childcare for our clients during group sessions.  

This position provides structured childcare (read stories, snack, craft/art projects) during weekly support groups for children ages eight and under.

Volunteer: Advocating for Survivors - weekdays

FRIENDS, Inc. is looking for On-Call SANE Advocates to provide support to survivors of sexual assault.

When an individual has been sexually assaulted, they are encouraged to go to their local emergency room to have a Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE) completed. 

This volunteer opportunity offers support to victims of sexual assault at the time of their medical exam (SANE exam). The On-Call SANE Advocate is responsible for providing emotional support as needed and information about FRIENDS services and other community resources for victims and their families.

As an On-Call SANE Advocate you are required to sign up to cover 2+ weekdays a month on whatever days work for you assuming they are not taken.

On-call schedules start at 4:30pm and end the same day at 9:00pm, on call response time: 45 min.   

Note: Advocate is responsible for being available during the slots they singed up to cover, between the times stated above.
