Help inspire young learners about the great outdoors. Every other week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, homeschool students come from all over southeast Wisconsin to Riveredge Nature Center to learn about science and the environment. Homeschool Assistants are responsible for aiding our education staff in keeping the group together while outdoors, supervising for short periods, helping children with their activities and crafts, and creating a safe, positive environment for children.
Consistency is preferred, must be able to hike up to 1 mile on unpaved terrain. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:30pm-3:00pm spots available. Please follow this link to complete our volunteer application and receive training. Background check required.
Riveredge Nature Center is committed to supporting conservation through education that awakens curiosity, engages the body, and explores connections to nature for all generations. We envision a world of healthier human and natural communities. We hope to prioritize adventure, a sense of place, discovery, and joy. Our vision and goals are made possible by our wonderful group of committed volunteers. If you are interested in getting outdoors and helping us build healthier human and natural communities, we'd love to have you join us!
