FRIENDS Inc. is celebrating 40 years of being the sole provider of critical services for individuals experiencing domestic and sexual violence in Washington County. To mark the occasion, we invite you to support and attend; Entertainment with FRIENDS, a Jewel Heist on October 20, 2018. We are excited to present an evening filled with mystery, laughter, sweet and savory hors d'oeuvre, cocktails, raffles, a silent auction, and more!
This fundraiser will help FRIENDS provide specialized services that support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. FRIENDS provides an emergency crisis shelter and hotline, legal advocacy, support and empowerment groups, one-on-one advocacy, and art therapy with a trauma informed care focus to meet each of our client’s individual needs. FRIENDS also collaborates with schools, agencies, and clubs to offer prevention education programs. In 2017 alone FRIENDS reached 4,955 community members.
We are looking for volunteers to help assist with the event!
Volunteer Descriptions
We have two shifts 4:00 – 7:00 (A) & 6:30 - 9:30 (B)
1: Auction/ Assist in Exit/ (2 per shift = 4)
- 2 volunteers for shifts A and B
- Stand at auction table.
- Answer questions about the auctions, bracelets, and how the auction will be presented at the end of the night.
- Each winner will be announced via excel spreadsheet by the end of the night.
- Volunteers from shift B will have to assist in auction wrap-up. Volunteers will have to take auction sheets to check-out area and help organize and distribute auction items.
2: Wine Pull (2 per shift = 4)
- 2 volunteers for shifts A and B for the wine pull.
- One volunteer to help with the wine board and one will assist choosing the wine.
3: Welcome Table/ Information/ Check-in (6-8 in total)
Will need 2 laptops and 2 tablets/phones – 1 square for purchase and other 2 with wine and keys, all 3 to be used with check out
- 6-8 Volunteers will be needed for shift A
- 2 (one pre purchase and one purchasing) Check people in via tablets, be able to purchase tickets via cc or cash
- 2 (one pre and one purchasing) Assign people an auction bracelet with auction number
- 2 (one with pre-purchased and one for purchasing night of) Updating excel with auction numbers and Inputting new information: Name, address, email address, phone number.
- 2 Answering questions about the itinerary, food and drink options, direct to auction items, museum open, FRIENDS, Inc.’s mission and service … (Kupka’s)
4: Exit/Check-out/Auction Winners (6 in total)
- 6 volunteers for shift B
- 1 After the auction closes, input winner’s names/bracelet numbers into excel sheet. ** This will need to be done during last set and most likely
- 3 Volunteers will have collect payment of winners and provide items. All will have a square
- ** 2 second shift auction persons can help direct people to check out and give baskets
5: 50/50 Raffle: (1 total at first shift and then announce)
- 1 volunteer for shift A
- The mc’s They will sell and push tickets all night and announce winner. We will have 1 additional volunteer to assist on breaks for entire night.
6: Floaters: (2 per shift = 4)
- 2 volunteers for shift A
- 2 volunteers for shift B
- Assist with breaks, help where needed, direct to check out for center pieces and dollar for services donation… remind of video and all auction options
- Shift A volunteers will assist with set-up
- Shift B volunteers will assist with check-out and clean-up
ALL shift A volunteers will help with set-up and ALL shift B volunteers will assist with strike/check-out and exit.
