Volunteer Newsletter Editor
NAMI Washington County provides advocacy, education support and public awareness to the community so all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. They’re seeking a volunteer to create and edit a quarterly newsletter that goes out to members, volunteers, and donors. This opportunity requires written and oral communication, proofreading, and computer skills. The estimated time commitment is 4 to 6 hours per quarter.
Make Life Better as an Advocate
Citizen Advocates is looking for an advocate for a man with disabilities that lives in Hubertus. The right person for this would be a man between 30 - 50 that enjoys getting out and enjoying life. Bowling, movies and Brewers are among some of his favorite activities. He works a full time job, so activities would need to be in the evening or weekends. If you feel the call to help, becoming an advocate is a great way to strike up a friendship with someone who’s not always included in community life.
Handyman or Woman
Love to tinker and fix things up? The Habitat for Humanity ReStores in West Bend and Germantown are always keeping an eye out for handy people. They often receive donations that needs a little TLC or assembly. This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who enjoys a flexible schedule and likes to work independently. If you’re willing to fix it, tinker with it or break it down then you are perfect for the ReStore!
