Who We Are

Mission: To serve our County’s youth and families by offering clothing and resources while providing support to our foster families and bringing awareness to our community.

Currently, there are over 70 children in and out of home care in Washington County, over 1,000 in Wisconsin, and over 400,000 nationwide. When a child is placed in out of home care, they typically come with nothing more than the clothing on their back.

Washington County Foster Closet was created by Foster Parents to serve the foster community. Our goal is to provide foster, kinship, and guardianship families with the items they need so they can focus on the social and emotional wellbeing of the child.

What We Do

We provide clothing and items a child needs when they are removed from their homes. Specifically, we provide two week’s worth of clothing, car seats, cribs, or gift cards for items such as diapers, formula, undergarments etc. We encourage, educate, and empower families through educational trainings, family outing and events, and support groups. We also inform and educate Washington County residents about foster care and encourage them to help children and families in our community.
