Who We Are

Mission: To empower people for social good.

The Volunteer Center was founded by a group of visionaries led by Sharon Ziegler. These leaders imagined a single place that connected volunteers with local for-purpose organizations. Today, our passion for matching volunteers with nonprofits in the community continues to be the central focus for our organization, and our programs have grown to reflect our commitment to the community.

While each of our programs is completely unique, they share a simple, but powerful message: it’s really quite simple to do good. When you volunteer through the Volunteer Center, you are supporting an entire community. You are helping local nonprofits thrive and making a difference right here at home.

What We Do

The Volunteer Center’s programs are designed to engage, educate, and mobilize volunteers to support our local nonprofit community. A few of our pillar programs include the Do Good Bus, Camp SuperHero, Kindness Projects, and our Social Good Brews coffee shop. Each program helps us connect community members to volunteer opportunities that make an impact on our community. With the help of our amazing volunteers, thousands of people have benefited from numerous acts of kindness and countless hours of service.
