Who We Are
The mission of the Blue Lotus Center is to assist people of any age with profound life challenges by offering accessible outdoor recreational and therapeutic opportunities in a caring, accepting, and inspiring 64-acre day-camp setting. Our vision is to inspire, stimulate and invigorate the human spirit through a connection with the natural environment.
Our mission focuses on five distinct beneficiary populations:
- People with cognitive or physical disabilities.
- People with chronic or terminal illnesses.
- Seniors living in memory care facilities.
- People experiencing economic hardship.
- Survivors of abuse, trauma, PTSD or those who have experienced mental health crises.
What We Do
Blue Lotus provides nature-based activities and retreat opportunities for children, adults, and seniors year-round.
For over 20 years, we have offered nonprofits and individuals throughout Southeastern Wisconsin the opportunity to spend a relaxing and joyful day in safe and beautiful surroundings. We offer a wide variety of activities such as: pedal boats, kayaks, canoes, fishing, a four-acre pond, swings, nature trails, a musical garden, a heated pool, yard games, and much more.
We primarily offer three types of programming: Blue Lotus programming such as our Blue Lotus Days for children with disabilities and their families; nonprofit groups who have the entire property to themselves for their own programming; workshops and nonprofit staff/board retreats.
With many accessible facilities, Blue Lotus fosters a welcoming environment where individuals and groups can experience the restorative power of nature.
