Who We Are
Mission: To supplement the basic food requirements of those in need throughout Washington County on a regular or emergency basis with items of the highest quality available.
Full Shelf Food Pantry, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization serving those in need of food assistance throughout Washington Co., WI. Full Shelf was established in 1981 and is one of the largest food pantries in the state. Because of its purchasing, distribution, and use of the computer for tracking, auditing and reporting, Full Shelf is well known throughout the state as a model for developing other pantries. We are a United Way agency and the designated commodity distribution center for the county through the Department of Health and Family Services of Wisconsin.
What We Do
Over 450 low income families are provided with food and grocery items monthly. Children under age 18 comprise 43% of those served. Over one million pounds of grocery items are distributed annually throughout the Washington County area. It takes dedicated volunteers more than a hundred hours per week to keep the food pantry running at its present level of operations. The Full Shelf Food Pantry has no paid staff and is run 100% by volunteers.
