Cedar Springs Therapeutic Ranch offers Equine assisted therapy to children and adults in the community with differing disabilities. We have been serving the community since 2021 and are always looking for more ways to help those we serve. Without dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to provide the level of care that our clients deserve. We have 16 horses, 3 goats, 2 mini horses, 2 donkeys, a llama, and a pot-bellied pig on our property that we use for our various programs. We currently offer services to over 30 families throughout the area as well as offering birthday parties and small group events. Therapeutic riding lessons take place Monday through Thursday and require a team of 3 volunteers/client. We see 2 clients at a time so for riding we need at least 6 people per hour. Our Stable Moments program that offers support to children in foster care or who have been adopted in the form of a mentorship program that includes an animal from our herd. The CSTR team provide training and will work with each individual volunteer to ensure they feel comfortable in their role. No experience is necessary! Along with our riding and mentorship program, we always have barn chores that need completing, cleaning, and other various tasks. The team at Cedar Springs Therapeutic Ranch appreciates each an every one of our volunteers, because without them we would not be able to do the meaningful work that we do for the community.
