Wednesday, September 24 is the United Way Day of Action. United Way agencies are hosting volunteer opportunities on this day to get the community active in celebration of the United Way campaign kickoff.
The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast is looking for a team of 12 volunteers to help build a trail at Camp Silverbrook, 2561 Decorah Rd., in West Bend. This project will last from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Using trail building hand tools, loppers and small hand saws, volunteers will create a trail corridor. Trained Ice Age Trail volunteers & Girl Scouts staff will offer instruction.
Work boots or heavy hiking boots are required. Rest rooms are not nearby. A pit latrine is within hiking distance.
