What are the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Days?
The Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Day(s) provide a time for parents/caregivers & special needs children to establish a new level of communication and bonding through outdoor activities such as nature walks, fishing, kayaking/canoeing, yoga, games, picnicking and more. Blue Lotus will have professional staff & volunteers available to help facilitate these activities. The Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Day(s) are special, as they don't cater to any one organization, but instead welcome families to come directly to Blue Lotus to spend a day in nature. Our hope is to reach children and families who are not necessarily affiliated with other support networks. The care and opportunities provided through this program have made a significant impact on past participants
We welcome nearly 200 family members over the June 15th, July 13th & August 17th Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Days at Blue Lotus Farm & Retreat Center. Each day brings its own assortment of guests, both new friends and old.
Visitors enjoyed exploring the trails, canoeing in the pond, participating in yoga and the parachute, or just relaxing in the swings, among other day camp-like activities.
