Description

Glacier Hills Credit Union is teaming up with the West Bend School District for Reality Day, a financial simulation for high school students on February 26. Reality Day is a unique and engaging hands-on simulation for students to learn about money management and financial responsibility. In conjunction with the Career Planning curriculum, the exercise provides real-world budgeting and financial decision making experiences for students to "live" for one month on a salary for their intended career.

Volunteers are needed to "sell" products and services to the students-turned-adults from industries including housing, insurance, auto, gas, health/personal care, food, entertainment & technology. This program is an effective way to teach finanical literacy to teens because it is relevant and fun!

No specific knowledge is required to run a booth, but if someone has applicable experience that would be a plus!

Three sessions are available:

  • 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (lunch provided)
  • 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
