Agency: Hartford Parks & Rec
Sticks and stones can break your bones…and ruin a good picnic too!
We need your help getting our parks ready for summer fun.
The more the merrier as we pick up sticks, winter debris and junk that has accumulated in the parks and along the shoreline of the Rubicon River. Who knows? You may finally find that Frisbee you lost last summer!
Families and groups are highly encouraged to attend together. Make a sign for your group and let passers-by know you’re there!
Ages: All ages! Younger children are welcome as long as they are supervised by a parent or guardian.
What to bring: Work gloves, rakes, water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray and personal comfort items.
8:30a.m. Event Kickoff – Volunteer Sign In at St. Aiden's Church (670 E. Monroe Ave in Hartford)
9a.m. – noon Projects all along the parkway from the Library to Willowbrook Park. We will expand to other parks if we have the manpower. Report to anyone wearing an orange vest.
Work up an appetite! Free lunch is available at St. Aidan’s church at noon!
